Rotary International District 6290 Governor Brian Robertson attended Roscommon Rotary’s meeting on Thursday, August 2nd at Fred’s of Roscommon. District 6290 is called an “International District” because we have clubs in both the U.S. and Canada. Mr. Robertson was actually born in County Roscommon in Ireland and moved to Sault Ste Marie, Ontario in 1983 where he resides today with his wife, Leona.

Mr. Robertson, a 33 year Rotarian (Rotary Club of Sault Ste. Marie ON Canada), addressed the Roscommon Club at their weekly meeting urging the members to follow the 2018-2019 Rotary International Theme “Be the Inspiration”. “Together, we see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change — across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.” This describes the Rotary that leaders must help build, he said.

Rotary leadership changes on July 1st of every year and this practice is followed from Rotary International through the individual club level. During the 2018-19 Rotary year, Brian and Leona, will visit each of the 60 clubs in our district. Please join us in wishing Brian and Leona safe travels throughout the year as they travel to meet local Rotarians and promote this year’s theme of “Be the Inspiration”.
